    Personal Response
What did you think of the conclusion of The Pigman? Why? It was sad the end of the book but I really like it because it makes you understand that you never know what you have until you lose it.
    Analyzing Literature
    1. In chapter 12, John starts to care about how his hair and clothes look. Whom does he want to impress? Why? He wants to impress Lorraine because he likes her a little bit her and he want her to be in love with him and I think he want something serious after the kiss.
    2. When Lorraine recalls her candlelight dinner with John, she says, “it was as if I was being told about . . . something beautiful waiting just for me.” What do you think that “something beautiful” is? Something beautiful maybe a kiss or something else because she loves John although he is kind of her best friend.
    3. Briefly describe Lorraine’s nightmare about Mr. Pignati’s “pig room.” What incident does the dream foreshadow? That she was in the room with all those pigs looking at her and she was afraid because she wasn’t able to go away from them. This foreshadow about the party that was thrown and Norton destroying all the Pigman’s pigs.
    4. Why is John so upset when Norton breaks Mr. Pignati’s porcelain pigs? What do the pigs represent, or symbolize, to Mr. Pignati? Because he wanted to throw a party but he doesn’t mean to break down his pigs with this party and he knows that Mr. Pignati will be very upset of them. The pigs represent Conchetta because she loved to collect this pigs.
    5. Why are John and Lorraine arrested? How do their parents react? John and Lorraine got arrested because they throw a party at the Pigman’s home when he wasn’t there, and they got his furniture destroyed Lorraine’s mother was shocked about the actions of his daughter and asked her about her clothes, and John´s father simply didn’t seem mad, the only thing he say was that he should go to a psychiatrist. His mom was mad at him.

Be sure to use specific details from the novel to write your letter. Mr. Pignati I’m really sorry what happened. That day that we take your clothes John and I to play a kids game. What did you think of the conclusion of The Pigman? Why?
I didn’t like the conclusion of the pigman because I didn’t wanted Mr. Pignati to die in such a sad way, I wanted him to die with his usual happiness.

    1. In chapter 12, John starts to care about how his hair and clothes look. Whom does he want to impress? Why?
He wanted to impress Lorraine because he was begging to like her.

    2. When Lorraine recalls her candlelight dinner with John, she says, “it was as if I was being told about . . . something beautiful waiting just for me.” What do you think that “something beautiful” is?
I think that something beautiful is John and maybe some special and intimate moment they were going to share.

    3. Briefly describe Lorraine’s nightmare about Mr. Pignati’s “pig room.” What incident does the dream foreshadow?
The dream was that Lorraine found herself in the room of the pigs but it was not as it really was, but she can feel that it was the room of the pigs, then she felt that some hand were pushing her to a coffin. She began to shout for help. This dream foreshadows death.

    4. Why is John so upset when Norton breaks Mr. Pignati’s porcelain pigs? What do the pigs represent, or symbolize, to Mr. Pignati?
He was very upset because the pigs were important to Mr.Pignati and Mr. Pignati was important for him. For Mr. Pignati the pigs represent the love between him and his wife Conchetta.

    5. Why are John and Lorraine arrested? How do their parents react?
They were arrested because of the party they have made which had caused some troubles. Lorraine mother was very freaked out and she reacted in a very expressive way. John´s parents reacted very normal and they told him he needed psychiatrist.

    6. Why does John think about his father when Mr. Pignati dies?
Because he began to think that they were all baboons that simply didn’t care about anyone else as long as they have enough peanuts to worry about themselves. So he began to remember that his father told him that he had too much spare time and also remembered the comparisons his parent always did between him and his brother.

    A Letter to Mr. Pignati
    Hi Mr. Pignati
This letter is to express you my apology for everything I’ve done to you. I’m sorry not only for playing you a joke by telephone but also for betraying you by letting John do that party. I want you to know how much you meant to me. You are the most special person I´ve ever meet and I want to thank you for teaching me to enjoy life no matter how many problems I might be facing.
    I love you, Lorraine.

He wants to impress Lorraine since he’s starting to see her as something more.
    2. When Lorraine recalls her candlelight dinner with John, she says, “it was as if I was being told about . . . something beautiful waiting just for me.” What do you think that “something beautiful” is?
John, since she has always liked John. Not in a romantic way, but in a friendly way also, but lately she started liking John differently and maybe, she thought, they could have something beautiful.
    3. Briefly describe Lorraine’s nightmare about Mr. Pignati’s “pig room.” What incident does the dream foreshadow?
She founds herself in the pig’s room. She felt as if someone was suddenly pushing her inwards. It may have meant loneliness or death.
    4. Why is John so upset when Norton breaks Mr. Pignati’s porcelain pigs? What do the pigs represent, or symbolize, to Mr. Pignati?
Because he knows how Mr. Pignati loves those pigs and how much they mean to him and he cares for his feelings. Maybe the union with her wife, and life of being together collecting pigs from all around the world.
    5. Why are John and Lorraine arrested? How do their parents react?
Because of the party they had at Mr. Pignati’s house and the noise it was making. John’s parents didn’t say much to him and just told him he needed professional help. Lorraine’s mom was freaking out, since she never expected her daughter to act that way.

    6. Why does John think about his father when Mr. Pignati dies?
He thinks his father should act with him just how Mr. Pignati treated him, like a father. He thinks of his father as an old selfish, non-sentimental person who only thinks about himself and not about his family’s feelings.

    Mr. Pignati,
I am so very, deeply sorry for all the trouble John and I have caused. We never meant to ever hurt you so deeply like we did. You were just like a father to us, treated us like your own children, what we don’t actually have or feel at home. About the party, well John and I thought it was going to be a calmed reunion, not a wild party with such cruel and heart-shattering results. As for your pigs, I really have no words to apologize since “I’m sorry” doesn’t cover it in the slightest. I know how much those porcelain pigs meant for you and if there’s anyway I can make up for such disaster please tell and I won’t doubt a single second to do anything I can to make things better. I wish things can go back to how they used to be. We had a relationship that was as easy as breathing and I so much wish it could be like that again. I have no words to say how sorry I am.
Sincerely and with all my love,
    Lorraine.

Mr. Pignati I’m sorry about what happened. I know we do very bad things, and we lied to you, Lorraine and me, but we didn’t do it with the objective of hurting you or make you mad, it only was for fun. I know you have done many things for us, and we thank you. Sorry for the broken pigs and the party, that was a total disaster and mess. Also for lying you at the phone, but after that we learn to love you, you are like the father I wish to have. I want a father that loves me and understand me, respect me, and listen to me, just like you do.
    Sincerely, John.
